One can easily spend a day just sinking or sun basking in the beaches of San Diego. But, given a day to discover the city, it may seem a little too much to decide where to go and what to do. However, with our insider's guide, let's raise our glasses to this splendid city and look forward to a beautiful 24 hours in the City of San Diego.

San Diego - Where near perfect climate, friendly locals and breathtaking coastlines come together to give you an enchanting harmony!

Freshly brewed coffee! Breakfast at 8:00 AM

Breakfast stop at Hillcrest institution. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked bread, pastries, croissants will welcome you at “bistro” breakfast Bread and Cie cafe  (350 University Avenue). Try its crusty sandwiches, salads, French quiche, sweet pastries with a perfect cup of hot coffee. Come hungry here for you are in for a big, big treat at Hash House a Go Go at 3628 5th Ave. Famous for its towering plates of ‘twisted farm food’, such as  huge meatloaf sandwiches, sausage-gravy pot pie, ridiculously larges pancakes and potato hash.

Architectural Masterpiece! Balboa Park at 10:00 AM

The first sight of the spectacular architecture and green landscape of the Balboa Park is a breathtaking view. It's time to shop or explore the Westfield Horton Plaza, a five-story, seven-block shopping mall. The mall with its state of the art design is so vibrant and includes all kinds of shops, big and small and offer the newest collections.

Lunch at 1:00 PM

Downtown neighborhood will serve you with tasty lunch. Underbelly at 750 W Fir St, is a sleek noodle shop that serves steaming bowls of ramen with oxtail dumplings, short ribs, bacon, smoked brisket and vegetarian options also available. The place also will delight you with two dozen craft beers on tap. Seafood or Steak? Stop at Island Prime, west of Down-town (880 Harbor Island Dr). Enjoy a panoramic bay view with a scrumptious seafood platter, such as the lobster BLT sandwich, seared tuna stack and shrimp with grits.

Arguably the best in the US! San Diego Zoo at 2:00 PM

With over 4000 animals, San Diego zoo is a massive facility and showcases cageless animal enclosures and maintains a beautiful “biospheres”. The star of the animal kingdom there are the giant pandas, which is the zoo's one of the most popular exhibits. The zoo also display other rare and endangered creatures, such as tree kangaroos, wild Przewalski's horses and Galapagos tortoises.

Distance and time from Downtown: 2.4 miles or 10 minutes drive

Mission Bay & Beaches at 5:00 PM

It's time to relax in San Diego's big three beach towns. Here you will find tanned, taut bodies frolic in the sand. With the most beautiful views you can embrace the sunset in beaches such as surf-friendly Mission Beach; Pacific Beach or the bohemian Ocean Beach with the fishing pier.

Artistic Approach! La Jolla Playhouse at 7:00 PM

For an artistic approach, head to the La Jolla Playhouse to enjoy a joyous broadway hits. The Tony-Award winning “Jersey Boys” was played here for the first time. Another alternative for you is the famous San Diego’s Globe Theater, the place to enjoy Twyla Tharpe/Bob Dylan musical “The Times They Are A Changin'”

Dinner at 8:00 PM

While in the vicinity of La Jolla, dine in one of its very fine restaurants. Cottage (7702 Fay Ave, La Jolla) is an exquisite contemporary restaurant to explore American local cuisine and also children friendly. A casual yet elegant option is the NINE-TEN (910 Prospect St, La Jolla) restaurant, that serves the freshest local produce with great wines from the amazing wine cellar. And for some tacos, stop at the Taco Stand (621 Pearl Street, La Jolla). Must try here - spicy shrimp taco and the grilled fish taco.

Beer adventure at 9:00 PM

If you're in San Diego, you must definitely check out the breweries. A 20 minutes drive will take you to 32 North (8655 Production Ave Ste A, San Diego), where your beer adventure begins. With new specialty beer added to the menu every month, this place attracts its customer over and over again. You must definitely taste its the Landfall Berliner Weisse with blackberries and the Bohemian Rhapsody Pilsner.

Discover San Diego's nightlife at 12:00 AM

You are finally set to explore the nightlife of San Diego. Stop at U-31 (3112 University Ave) for drinks, karaoke, dance party and thrilling DJ spin. Just a 10 minutes drive will take you to another happening hotspot, the Shout! House San Diego at 655 4th Ave. It's a non stop celebration every night - Rock & Roll, or Sing-a-long or Dueling pianos, two piano players/singers performing grand pianos in front of two large mirrors.
