San Diego is served by the
San Diego International Airport (SAN). The other two general-aviation airports operated by the city are

SAN is a public airport, owned and operated by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. In the United States, San Diego is the busiest single runway commercial International airport and it is also ranked the world's second-busiest single-use runway after Gatwick Airport. Getting to and from the airport
Services to get to and from the airport are provided by
Greyhound bus, Airport shuttles and all major international car-rental companies. An airport taxi to downtown may charge an average fare of $10 to $15, plus tip.
West Coast Rent a Car: Independent and smaller car rental also offers services to and from the airport. They provide FREE pick up from Airport, Hotels & Anywhere within 5 mile radius.

Major Freeways and Highways in San Diego
- Interstate 5: The route connects regions south to Tijuana and north to Los Angeles.
- Interstate 8: It runs along areas east to Imperial County and the Arizona Sun Corridor.
- Interstate 15: The route links northeastern parts via the Inland Empire to Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.
- Interstate 805: It separates from from I-5 nearby the Mexican border and reunites with I-5 at Sorrento Valley.
- SR 94: It links downtown with I-15, I-805 and East County.
- SR 163: It links downtown with the northeastern part of the city, make an intersection with I-805 and unites with I-15 at Miramar. A stretch of it passes through Balboa Park as the city's freeway and is tagged as one of America's most beautiful parkways.
- SR 52: Via Santee and SR 125, it connects La Jolla with East County.
- SR 56: Via Carmel Valley and Rancho Penasquitos, it connects I-5 with I-15.
- SR 75: It crosses the city as Palm Avenue and passes the San Diego Bay as the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.
- SR 905: It links I-805 and I-5 to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.
Getting Around San Diego City
Greyhound: It has direct buses to Los Angeles in hourly basis. It will cost you approximately $19 for two to three hours travel time.

Amtrak: Amtrak operates the Pacific Surfliner in frequent intervals daily, starting from downtown’s historic Santa Fe Depot (1055 Kettner Blvd). The routes it follows are - San Luis Obispo - Santa Barbara - Los Angeles - San Diego.
San Diego to Los Angeles: Fare is $37 and takes around 21/2 hours
San Diego to Santa Barbara: Fare is $41 and takes around 51/2 hours

- City buses: $2.25 to $2.50

- MTS bus 992: $2.25. It operates daily from 5am to 11pm daily, at an interval of every 15 to 30 minutes between the airport and downtown.
