March through May is one of the best times to visit San Diego. If you want to avoid tourist rush and enjoy the mild weather, this time of the year will serve you very well. But, towards the season end, you can expect a rise in the rates, so it is advisable to book a few weeks in advance.

The summer months are loaded with numerous gala festivals and also the weather is pleasantly warm and perfect to hit the gorgeous sun kissed beaches. In fact, this time of the year is everyone's favorite time to visit the city but you can expect a skyrocketing hotel rates. Make sure to book the hotel rooms and air tickets, at least a month in advance to get a better deal.

Fall Holiday in San Diego

You must explore the city during autumn, when there are lesser crowds and lower hotel rates. Make your hotel bookings several weeks prior if you're visiting in early fall. But a few days advance booking should be good enough, for a late October or early November trip.

During the winter months, you can expect a good amount of rainfall, with lower temperatures. This is the time to take advantage of lower hotel rates and there are plenty of activities to indulge in. To be in a safer side, it is however wise to make your reservations few weeks prior because, wintertime events may result in price hike.
